Payment Lag Analysis
- This report should be reviewed by Supervisors, Managers, Administrators, CFO, CEO’s on a monthly basis.
- We use this report to show you payment lag insights into your practice based upon the Insurance Category groupings.
- Within each Insurance Category we provide you the breakdown of the Visits, Payer Response Lag, and Payment Posting Lag.
***Note the definitions of each are listed below:
- Visits – are the total number of unique visits
- Payer Response Lag – is the time it takes the payer to provide a response back for payment from the claim being submitted. This metric is showed in days.
- Payment Posting Lag – is the time that it takes from the Payer Response to the time it takes your payment posting team to Post the actual payment to the account.
The Payment Lag Analysis is shown by Insurance Category across a rolling 12 month period. It also shows the combined total for the practice as a whole in bold at the bottom of the report for each corresponding month.
